Anders Salesjö was born in 1966 and grew up in Skövde. Already during his growing up years, he was very interested in animal and plant life in water. At the age of twelve he joined Skövde Sportdykarklubb and since then his interest in diving and life in the sea has only grown. 
 
Anders soon left Skövde to study biology at the University of Gothenburg and later settled down in Lysekil on the west coast. He lives with his children Axel and Olivia. He has his daily job at Gullmarsgymnasiet in Lysekil where he works as a teacher in marinebiology.

In addition to his regular job, Anders also does some teaching for the University of Gothenburg, including at the Sven Lovén Center for Marine Sciences. and, he is a frequently hired lecturer, course leader, diving tour operator and article writer.

Anders is one of Scandinavia's foremost underwater photographers. He is the Nordic and multiple Swedish champion in underwater photography and has represented Sweden at several World Cups organized by CMAS (Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques). he is a member of the association Naturfotograferna/N since 2006 Naturfotograferna/NHe is best known for his animal pictures from Nordic waters. Many years of active photography in our home waters has led to him today having Sweden's largest image archive of Nordic marine animals. After a lot of travel and several years of work abroad, he also has a large image archive of marine animals from other parts of the world.
 
Anders is an ambassador for the reputable diving travel company Scuba Travel and expedition leader for UV photo travel at Exposure Expeditions. Genom deras försorg håller han regelbundet i conducted tours med inriktning mot marinbiologi och undervattensfotografering. De flesta dyken sker dock vid Sveriges och Norges kust, men de senaste åren har han även vänt blicken mot våra svenska sjöar och vattendrag. Att fotografera i dessa vatten har varit en spännande utmaning som varit betydligt svårare att bemästra än att jobba i tropikernas klara vatten.
 
In the spring of 2013, Anders was selected to compete in the subject of fish in TV4's quiz game "Fantasterna”. Han vann då programmet samt klarade även ”den omöjliga frågan” och kan därmed titulera sig en av Sveriges främsta fiskfantaster. Under årens lopp har han även fått en mängd utmärkelser för sitt fotograferande.
